About this app

Google’s official phone calling app is now available to download for the first time. Phone helps you easily connect with family and friends, block spam callers and know who’s calling before you answer – all with a simple, intuitive design.

Powerful spam protection
See warnings about suspicious callers that help you avoid unwanted calls from spammers, telemarketers and scammers. Block numbers to prevent them from calling you again.

Know who’s calling you
Google’s extensive caller ID coverage lets you know the business that’s calling so that you can answer with confidence.

Screen unknown callers 1,2
Call Screen answers unknown callers, filters out detected spammers without interrupting you and helps you learn more about callers that you don’t recognise before you pick up.

Visual voicemail 1,3
Check your messages without needing to call your voicemail – view and play them in any order, read transcriptions, and delete or save them directly from the app.

Intuitive design
Our simple, lightweight design keeps your favourite people just a tap away. Plus, switch to dark mode to save battery and reduce eye strain at night.

Emergency support 1,4
See your current location when you make an emergency call, and share information about the assistance that you require, along with your location, to the emergency operator without speaking.

Phone app is available on most Android devices running Android 9.0 and above.

Also available for Wear OS.

1 Available only on some devices that have Phone pre-installed.
2 Automatic screening is available in the US only, English only. Manual screening is available in US, CA only, English only. Call Screen may not detect all robocalls or spam calls.
3 Transcription is available in the US only, English only.
4 Available in Australia, the United Kingdom and the US only, English only.

I still don't get over half my calls. Even ones in my contacts and a couple in my favorites. They go straight to my VM. I've been waiting for this to be fixed for over 3 years now over hundreds of app updates. This issue really would be the only thing that might hold me back from getting the Pixel 10 series or beyond. I am very disappointed because otherwise this pixel 7 pro has been one of my best phones ever.

Hi, Charles. Check out this guide about voicemail notifications (see "Voicemail notifications not working" section): https://goo.gle/2zPRsYc. If you are still experiencing issues, please submit feedback within the Phone app by tapping the three dot menu in the top right corner - Help & Feedback - Send Feedback. Thank you.

Incredibly mysterious app. If a contact has a few phone numbers it is impossible to find from which one of them you received the call. If a contact has a landline phone an SMS is sent to it though it has a few mobile numbers too. The preference should be quite opposite: i.e. always ask at start of a chat to which number should be the SMS sent.

Hi, Vladimír. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We're sorry to hear that. We'll pass this along to the team so they can continue iterating on your feedback to make Google Meet even better. We ask that you submit feedback within the Meet app: Meet> Menu (Top left)> Send feedback. Thanks.

hands-free Bluetooth connected to my car horribly. may or may have not been related to the app but most likely it was my car or the combination of all the software together. it's frustrating because I cannot know what the fault is. I just expected to all work. Ed: Oppo Reno 10 mobile. Even without BT connection to car, just using speaker phone, nobody can hear what I'm saying. Annoying.

What's new

With our latest update to Call Screen on Pixel devices in the US, the Google Assistant now helps you automatically screen unknown callers and filter out detected robocalls before your phone ever rings. And when it’s not a robocall, your phone rings a few moments later with helpful context about who is calling and why.
