About the new permission "SuperUser":
This permission is now requested to make Total Commander work better on rooted devices. It tells the SuperUser app that Total Commander supports root functions. It has no effect if your device is not rooted. Root functions allow Total Commander to write to system folders like /system or /data. You will be warned before anything is written if the partition is write protected.

familiar with endless ads that won't let you even listen to mp3 on your android? apk viruses. this app is the alternative to hardreset if you downloaded a jailbreak or virus apk (knowingly or not). it will clean everything on your android. the only thing, you will have to do it manually by opening each folder. and you won't lose data (hardreset may be effective but it will erase everything on your phone).

i asked duck.ai which file manager apps can create a list of files in a folder. the answer was "One file manager app that can save a list of files in a folder is **Total Commander for Android**. This app allows users to export a list of files to a text file, making it a suitable choice for managing file lists. While other file manager apps may have various features, Total Commander stands out for this specific functionality." anyone notice where this functionality is?

I have dozens of folders with hundreds/ thousands of images. ⛔️There does not seems to be an option to customize view: No grid view. No option to make thumbnails larger. No option to have grid view + filename. ⛔️No native internal image viewer. The internal "TC media player" only works with music and movie files,it seems. ⛔️There is a recycle bin, but it can't be opened or customized (e.g. delete after 30 days). Deletion is thus permanent. ⛔There also needs to be a PW lock for app / recycle bin.

What's new

- Editor: Let the user open text files of any size after showing a warning "Out of memory" with option "Retry"
- Media Player: New context menu items to share tracks (Send to)
- Show album covers for music files as thumbnails in main program (optional)
- File list: Show size with more digits where possible
- Context menu: The “Send to”/“Open with” dialogs now allow you to set bookmarks for frequently used apps (shown at the very top).
